And So It Begins…

True Dat!

So today was day 1 of training! I am alive to talk about it so I guess it gets a thumbs up!

Trust me when I say today was one of those days I would rather crawl under my bed (yes, I said under..this is funny because I don’t have a bed frame right now so my mattress is on the floor) than go for a run. However, I made a commitment to myself that I am NOT willing to give up on!

First things first, I came up with my running schedule for the week. Like I said before I am making my miles correlate with my work schedule to make sure I have my week planned out.

Here is week one’s schedule:

Sunday: 4 miles  Monday: Spin/ Cross Train Tuesday: 6 miles Wednesday: Rest Day Thursday: Virtual Run/ 7 miles (I have a Dog Days of Summer Virtual run to complete…I’ll explain later) Friday: Rest Day Saturday: 6 miles Total Miles: 23 Miles

My plan calls for 30 miles for week one, but it also says that you are used to running that each week. Guess what? This chick struggled running 30 for one month so I’ll take 23 miles for week one! Plus, I had to add in one cross training day so I don’t get bored.

Today I went to Gold’s and ran my 4 miles on the treadmill with the nice cool A.C. keeping me cool.

Well the A.C. did NOT keep me cool! I sweated my A$$ off! I feel like I ran slow, but I averaged about 10’40 for the first 2 miles and then started speeding up after my short water break. Mile 4 I hauled butt and knocked out a 9’50. I still feel like it was slow because I could have sworn my shoes were about to catch on fire with my speed!

I felt pretty amazing after my run. It is amazing to look back and one year ago I would have struggled and been in pain after 4 miles. Now I LOVE it!

I made sure to stretch really well after to keep my legs nice and limber. Then I went by the car wash and to Kroger. I think I bought the entire produce section. I knew I needed to rack up on yummy snacks with amping up my miles, otherwise I’d shove my face with whatever is in sight.

For dinner I made some “fried” zucchini (I just sautéed them on the stove with olive oil) and had 2 small sweet potatoes. The best part of my meal is going to be the cookies later! I am throwing myself a small pitty party today.

I hope you had a a wonderful weekend! I found these awesome quotes on Pinterest today, hope you enjoy!

Did you do anything fun this weekend?
